Q.  I received several estimates from different painting contractors and there is a wide variance in price.  Why is that?

A. There are many factors to consider when reviewing a painting estimate.  Unlike Classic Renovations of Buffalo, Inc., many companies may not be licensed or insured.  In addition, they often subcontract work out to inexperienced lower rate painters that may not be trained in safety measures or proper techniques for surface preparation.  Some painters may be using one coat coverage of paint along with cheap paint materials.  Low quality paints are lower in cost but will fade out over a shorter period of time.  It is important to consider all of these issues when hiring your painting contractor.

When you're pricing out contractors, in addition to asking them to provide references, ask them to provide you with a copy of their current Workers' Compensation and liability insurance Certificate of Insurance, license to work in the city of Buffalo, and certificate from the EPA.

Q.  Does the customer need to be home while you are working on the interior?

A.  No, in fact, most people are not home during the day while the work is taking place.

Q. Is powerwashing required before exterior painting?

A. Prior to house painting, your home will be powerwashed to remove pollutants such as milldew, dirt, and mold.  This will ensure that your home's surface is clean and ready for staining or painting.  You can read more on our Powerwashing page.
